We transformed a boring '90s box into a mid-century surf shack with layers of California coastal culture, Mexican regional influences, patterns and color. Surface materials did the heavy lifting: sculptural breeze-block walls, handmade tile, and terrazzo flooring, while warm wood details gave the house a collected, lived-in soul.
